Nambawan Café reviews
57Wonderful place that gives a taste og Pacific hospitality. The staff are always happy and are interested in their guests and always have a smile to share. The pizzas are truly amazing!
Visited Nambawan Cafe on 22 Feb 2020. My wife ordered a Chicken Caesar salad. It consisted mainly of lettuce leaves and maybe 4 small pieces of shredded chicken. There was no Caesar dressing on it, instead a plastic bottle of mayonnaise was thumped onto the table. My wife complained & a Caucasian male apologised for the lack of chicken, (as apparently they had nearly run out of it). He also promised a refund. Here’s a thought - take it off the menu - don’t pretend it’s a Chicken Caesar salad when it isn’t. Then a female Ni-van employee berated my wife for eating too many of the leaves - she was rude & non apologetic. We were duly refunded 800 Vatu, but it left a bad taste in our mouth. Visited this cafe 6 years ago & the food was great & staff attitude was much better. Wake up Vanuatu, Australians account for 70% of your tourism, and we won’t accept anything you dish up to us. Overall, very disappointed.
Frequently visited this place during my stay in PV. It was good, delicious and big portion of fish and chip, burrito, carrot cake, and coffee.
If you visit in the afternoon, most likely you will get bonus for beautiful sunset.
They also provide free wifi, the connection is good enough for checking email and skype telecon.
Centrally located and easy to find. Was a good meeting spot for tours etc. Good coffee and had access to power point for PC/phone in need. Friendly staff and service was prompt.
Great spot for coffee - and catching up with friends etc. Right on the harbour with friendly staff, great coffee and good food. Atmosphere is pretty good too - not too mention movie nights, pizza specials and the craft markets right next door. This is my go-to spot every time I go back to Vila - and I lived there for 6 years!
I ordered coconut smoothie and it has no taste. Also the hawaian pizza.
The energizer drink most of it was just water.
It's a very relaxing place, the food was enjoyable and the beer was cold. The price was reasonable aswell
It's the main walkway waterfront in Vanuatu, lovely staff, nice food and cheap, vegetarian options and vegan salads, free wifi.
You have to pay to go to the toilet though is the only downfall.
Catering for my Australian tastes and standards of cafe culture its a rare find in Port Villa. Reasonably priced too given I've found everything relatively expensive in Vanuatu. Looks out to Iririki Island and on an Esplanade it's a break from the real Port Villa.
Only meal they served fish and chips which was disappointing, the amount of fish was small. Great views from the seating.
An excellent place unfortunately I couldn't enjoy the movie (note there is no movie on Sundays despite what it says on the website) however it had great burgers and one of very few restaurants to play local music.
Gorgeous harbour views, but we came back for the Tanna Coffee! Strong, delicious, just the thing to start the day.
Great for coffee and breakfast. For me the highlights would be the salads (large, fresh tasty) and the selection of pastries. Although their pizza is also very good individual sized, but excellent.
Located on the water with fully under cover seating, Nambawan cafe is also licensed with a range of beers and spirits.
I ordered an Aussi burger and one tea. The tea arrived in 2 minutes, the burger just after 45 minutes. It was completely empty and the waiter told me: « sorry, we forgot your meal », staff not professional. Can you imagine a burger with, tomato, lettuce, cheese and other ingredients in a sandwich bread? Impossible to eat it, my plate looked likes a big mess! Also, the quality of the meat was very poor, had not any taste without sauces. Nice views of the bay.
Great place to grab a quick bite or to hang out and drink coffee and use the wifi. They are very involved with the local community and do a great job hosting events. Beautiful water front view.
Simple food, but a nice view. Its location is its main perk, but there are many places near by that arr either better or cheaper depending on what your after
We visited Nambawan café for lunch. I ate fish and chips. It was good.
The chips were good and fish was well cooked, unfortunately only one peace.
My wife got Greek salad and she really enjoyed it.
Very good the smoothies.
WiFi is available but to slow for everything.
Great little cafe. Good food, fairly reasonable prices, and good coffee. Plenty of locals go there, which tells you a lot.
I ordered a 50/50 salad. It was a great price and exactly what I wanted. Delicious food with a great view.
Good value dishes compared to some other local cafes and restaurant. Limited menu but food really nice. Happy hour and good wifi, and good location on the waterfront. I was recommended to visit here by two separate people and I do recommend it for an affordable meal.
