Aside from the generator used, that makes a lot of noise, it s good to see that the locals are investing in this small island, you have upgraded pathways that go all around the island

Paradise on earth. Beautiful corals and varieties of fish and turtles. Perfect place for snorkeling can hire snorkeling gear for just 10$ AUD. The weather is also good most of the time. Local Kawa drink and lobster must try on. Locals are very friendly too.

I spent most of my time in Tanna with Morris and Susie and they were very welcoming, kind and helped with everything. The bungalows are cozy and have everything you need including a beautiful view of the volcano from the doorstep. You can hear its rumbling and at night you can see red lava clouds coming out. Both sides of the volcano (the entrance to the guided tour and the ash field) are in walking distance from the bungalows. Therefore you can do some nice excursions in the surreal nature by foot, e.g. To sulfur bay hot springs, the ash field and the nearby river. When i got to the accomodation, I forgot my phone in the car of the driver (luckily a relative) and Morris even went to the ash field with me in the dark to get my phone back. Probably the coolest experience during my stay! Also Susies food was very tasty, just the breakfast was not the most nurturing. On the last morning it was just crackers with peanut butter. I had a lovely time and it was amazing being able to experience authentic Tanna life and nature first hand. I would definitely come again!

Beautiful food cooked from local ingredients. Breakfast is included and is usually fruit and bread with some spreads. Night meals are extra but excellent. This lodge is directly opposite the entrance to the volcano experience. The rooms are village bungalows with a communal shower and toilet in another building. Please treat this as a camping experience. The owner Thomas and his family are lovely.

The location is fantastic - snorkel the beautiful reef straight from the front of the hotel. Spacious grounds and a cool tidal channel with fish to feed. The staff were all absolutely lovely. However, that's where the praise stops.this "resort" is extremely run down, very overpriced and absolutely does NOT match what is advertised. We were so disappointed to return here after 15 years to find it is now "managed" and owned by foreigners who never seem to be present and the staff do not seem very happy working here. We felt really sorry for them every time they had to tell us about a surprise extra fee or that they didn't have what was advertised.
The low points:
- The pool probably would be fabulous but it was empty when we arrived and didn't look like it had been used in some time.
- The food was very expensive and the one and only meal we ate here was pretty terrible.
- On arrival we were informed that the manager had just introduced a charge for WiFi (was free when we booked) which we were expected to pay, despite not being advised of this and our booking pre-dating this change.
- The rooms are TINY - we stayed in an upper garden villa and it was NOT even close to the advertised dimensions. Some of the lights didn't work and it was pretty dirty.
- The "buffet breakfast" was an absolute joke - plain bread with no butter or jam, expired packets of nutrigrain and some fruit. No juice and we had to negotiate getting coffee included!
I understand Tanna has done it tough with covid and 2 cyclones, but look after your staff, don't advertise what you simply don't have and don't slug your guests for extra charges. We never did get to speak to the elusive manager.
Again, cannot stress how lovely the staff were at the Evergreen and they were clearly doing the best they could under the circumstances!

8000VUV for the first visit, 4000 for 2nd, 3rd 2000, then should be for free. Transport to the top 1000VUV. Another level experience. Totally worth every penny.

Perfect and rich dinners for 1000VUV, plenty of things to do around, basically 5metres from the volcano entrance, lovely dogs, mosquito nets, you can buy Tuskers for 500VUV, very little grocery store nearby, transport from the airport provided 2500VUV/pp you can get a lunch for 700,2500VUV per couple per night
