The Stonegrill Restaurant reviews
42 Was a bit worried about steak after a poor Steak at the Waterfront Bar and Grill.
But this meal was the best we had in Vanuatu.
Tuna, mash, Vanuatu beans.
Fillet, Surf and Turf, mash, Vanuatu beans.
Spag Bol for the kids.
Great view, great atmosphere, great service, nice house wine.
All in all the best experience we had in Vanuatu.
I’m a foodie traveler and do not tend to come back twice to eat at the same place. But I broke that rule for Stonegrill as their food was simply amazing. Wonderful staff, beautiful view. Strongly recommended!
Great atmosphere! Perfect restaurant for a date night or just because. Food was amazing, of course we went for steak and it didn't dissapoint! Yes I will be going back
The food and service here is fantastic! We arrived with no reservation, and they only had a couple of tables available in the entrance way that many people walked past, and the staff offered to move the table to the grass area just down from the restaurant without us asking (we aren't fussy!), thinking we'd enjoy a more private space, so this was a lovely touch and wonderful welcome into the restaurant. The staff wanted nothing more than to make sure all guests had a very enjoyable meal. We chose a scotch fillet and sirloin steak which we thoroughly enjoyed after cooking it how we liked on the stone plate. The French green bean sides and vegetable of the day were so tasty, and the champagne sauce is definitely recommended! We thought it was going to be really expensive, but the meal was actually very reasonably priced and matched the experience, atmosphere and service. We then had dessert as we enjoyed it so much, and the homemade chocolate raspberry cheesecake and the homemade creme brulé were incredible! Thank you Stonegrill for a lovely meal, and especially to Vicky (name on our receipt) who was exceptional with her service.
Set on the hill above Fatumaru Bay, Stonegrill has awesome views and a great atmosphere. We had the steak and seafood parcel presented with the cooking stones and thoroughly enjoyed the novelty and quality of our meal. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent.
Cannot stop talking about this dinner! It was delicious. The food was incredible, well prepared. Not too much waiting either.
I had not booked and the staff did everything to accomodate for me and had a table made for me quickly. I was looked after perfectly.
A well run restaurant with very nice and kind staff.
Five ️
I try to avoid publishing negative reviews, but on this occasion, I feel compelled. The steak I received was certainly not a Scotch Fillet, but a sinewy & chewy cut.
Worse of all it left me with 12 hours food poisoning. All I had that day was a continental breakfast.
Staff were fine and maybe I was unlucky, but overall not a great experience.
Beautiful location. Expensive and average food. I wasn’t able to eat the calamari, too tough and my salad had rotten cherry tomatoes. Meat and prawns you cooked yourself was yummy and fun experience.
Okayish experience.
Waitresses were friendly
Wauw, what a gorgeous meal! After the cyclones they couldn’t do the stoned so they cooked everything for us and it was just delicious. Steak, french beans, chips and a beautiful champagne sauce. Every single thing on my plate was perfect.
Great views of Port Vila, food was great, however the dining area away from the main part of the restaurant could do with more light, and the service could possibly be a bit quicker.
Food was amazing!
I had the Marinara Pasta and a Chocolate Mousse, it was all delicious and the view was stunning.
The champagne and mushroom sauces are very tasty.
They also serve some of their ice creams on a frozen stone!
The food came relatively quick despite the restaurant being almost full.
I would definitely recommend — especially at sunset time with a nice bottle of wine!
A huge surprise when walking in. Sensational views to go with the delicious food. Good value for money
Our last meal in Vanuatu before heading home, and what a great one it was. We got their early so we didn't need a booking, but the restraurant was still busy on a Sunday evening - best to book ahead generally, I think. Ordered the carpaccio, sashimi, and seafood plate (calamari, scallops, etc) - you are given a hot stone to cook your main meal on (not the carpaccio or sashimi of course!). Everything was prepared excellently and very tasty. Sashimi was as fresh as it could be, and the capers that came along with the carpaccio were dynamite. Atmosphere great, service great. We had 2 young kids with us, it was no trouble, staff very accomodating. And the view over Port Vila during sunset - wow. It's a bit pricey - but really worth every bit, as the experience was really a wonderful one.
Arrived at 2 and left at 4.30. Nothing was a problem. You just relax enjoy the food and the view. Up on the hill the sea breeze is also very nice in February.
We went on a very busy night without a reservation.they had run out of a lot of items and the staff was totally run to the ground. The food come at different times. But the beer was cold. The food was tasty and they did made space for us when we had no booking.
So when I was paying and the manager came over and asked how it was, and I was honest) without that I may have gone for 3 stars but in the end: the final question is this: "would you go here again" and the answer is yes! A good manager and staff trying their best in difficult circumstances.well done guys
The restaurant was full, we cooked alone on the stone, it was very tasty, kind staff. This is menu
Excellent 5star experience. The steak was perfect and the views at sunset to die for. Best restaurant of all the ones we tried on the island by far.
High quality fresh food and excellent service. Lots of fun cooking your own Surf & Turf. We really enjoyed the “vegetable of the day” which was choco cooked in a buttery pesto. Shout out to the lovely Vivian for her warm service. The banana fritter on frozen stone was “da bomb”.
Outstanding. Best meal we had in vanuatu and up there overall. We got the stone meal with the eye fillet and the seafood. Really enjoyed the food and the whole evening. Just go there.
Amazing place with people who care about the dining experience. All staff extremely lovely and the food was great. Good atmosphere - we had such a lovely night here. Would highly recommend.
