Love everything about The Moso. Wonderful staff, relaxed & intimate space and service. Fabulous cocktails & delicious food in a gorgeous setting. Insta worthy backdrops every which way you look. The soft adventure getting there, the boat rides. THE WATER, OMG the water. The private beach. The snorkelling.

Have stayed 3 times in 12 months, and booked the next.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at The Moso. The staff were an absolute delight, making everything so easy for us and welcoming us. The location was unbelievably beautiful and our room was very comfortable, with an amazing pool and views. The food was excellent. Would highly recommend, we will be returning in the future.

My boyfriend and I spent one week at The Moso. It was the best week ever. The view was breathtaking, the staff was so friendly and fun. They prepared a night with traditional food and one night to experience kava. Everything was perfect. Thanks everyone, Alice, Nunes, Max, Franky, Jerry, John John, Claudia, Richy, Alvina, the amazing chefs, Bridgette and all other lovely staff:)

We stayed at The Moso for 5 nights and it was the most relaxing holiday we have had, perfect location to unwind at the beach side Villa which had a very comfortable bed and pillows. We often felt like we were the only couple there.
We did three visits to Embas beach which was a half hour walk across the island as the snorkelling was fantastic, the staff also organised a picnic lunch and boat ride there one of the days which was a great way to see the shipwrecked yacht and some of the islands from a different perspective and I even saw a turtle!
Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed the food, even though we personally felt the serving portions were on the smaller side we ended up ordering sides which made the meal filling so wasn’t an issue but worth mentioning for future holiday makers.

The Moso is situated on the island of Moso which is around the north of Efate, around a 30-40 minute drive from Port Vila.

This was my first time visiting the Moso, it was on a Sunday. I called them in the morning and a very friendly gentleman picked up the phone and gave us all the necessary information on how to get there and the parking and transfer fees we had to pay as day guests. We arrived during lunch and I was impressed by how beautiful the island was. It is definitely a big change from the usual busy streets of Port Vila. The dining area was quiet and cool from the ocean breeze. I definitely enjoyed the location and we spent 3 hours in total just sitting and enjoying our meal. We did try looking for a beach area to take a quick swim around the resort however we didn't find a good spot for that day, but the staff did say that there is a beach on the other side of the island that is a 45-minute walk that we did not want to make but would be worth the effort for those who really want to.

We ordered food off the lunch menu which consisted of a variety of dishes. We had a Margarita pizza, grilled chicken on a stick, pan-seared local fish with kumala mash and lemon sauce, and pulled pork sliders. The food was well-priced for what we received. The best out of them was the Margarita pizza as it had a nice balance of tomatoes, onions, and cheese. The pan-seared fish portion however was a bit small but understandable, but the grilled chicken was quite dry and basic did expected some more from the chicken. For drinks I had the lime juice slush, they say that they grow the lemon, and boy it was sour, no sugar at all, but was a nice balance to the entire meal. The service was moderate, but I did feel like our waitress did not particularly know the menu well. As we were not able to communicate and understand the things on the menu we did not know well. I do not know what happened as well but the pulled pork sliders were forgotten about, and as a main meal for me I was getting quite hungry and the flow of the meal was disrupted, but this is a silly mistake and could easily be avoided for others.

Overall, the Moso is a really decent place to chill out and relax your mind for the day or even stay a night. I do recommend this place for older people as this place does not get too many children and it is really relaxing and peaceful for those looking to have a little getaway.

The Moso is an above average beach resort on Moso Island off the west coast of Efate. The best thing about my stay was it was entirely staffed by Ni-Vanuatu people, including two from the two villages on the island. All staff were gracious and friendly, happily sharing pieces of their lives with us as we dined or walked around the property. While many resorts employ professional resort managers to smooth out what guests expect from luxury accommodation, I really appreciated this model where perfection played second fiddle to culture and charm.

In terms of the rooms, the ten villas are well separated and tucked into nicely maintained tropical greenery complete with cascades of butterflies every time you walk outside. The interiors are airy minimalist monochrome with concrete floors and a pared back Pasifikan wardrobe. We could hear the ocean from our firm, comfortable bed: even the pillows were good (rare on islands). The pool is small but big enough, looking out over Moso Beach back towards the mainland/main island Efate. It’s perfect for post-snorkelling relaxation.

Food at The Moso uses the palette of available ingredients in a slightly unique way. You can see a definite Lebanese influence with lunch served tapas style. So far we have enjoyed dukkah-covered flatbread, home-made baba ganoush, beetroot and sumac dip, beef kofta and shish tawook skewered with sweet island onions. The tuna sashimi and green papaya salad make the most of the bounty of the location. Gnocchi with seasonal greens presented choko in a good cream sauce. The steak, using Vanuatu’s famous beef, is a standout. Probably the only disappointment has been a tuna steak crusted in sesame served cooked through due to thinness rather that the requested blue.

Desserts include grilled pineapple rings and churros that lacked the cinnamon you might be used to, but impressed with spongy, tasty dough. Music over dinner has been particularly well chosen. In terms of breakfast, scrambled eggs have proved more successful than poached. Cocktails are above average: the ginger and coriander martini, and the basil-infused Plantation were my favourites, while my dining companion revisited the Bloody Mary.

In terms of my suggestions to improve, it would be a light in the restaurant toilet, a price list for the in-room mini bar, and perhaps making guests aware August is so windy it necessitates walking 2.5km each way across the island to swim on the leeward side. We did it each day though, the calm waters, no wind and snorkelling at Embas Beach was absolutely worth the effort.

Need to get away from the rat race? Look no further than The Moso! And idyllic place to pause, disconnect and reset.

My husband and I spent 7 nights at this BEAUTIFUL resort for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint.

Every staff member from reception, waiters, cleaners and even the maintenance staff are genuinely happy and greet you no matter what they are doing.

Anton and Joel are amazing and have built an amazing slice of heaven that will be sure to immerse you in to the true meaning of island time. They are so warm, welcoming and personable, letting you live your best life here.

Amazing reefs to explore. Fantastic food and absolute picture perfect views.

I would have loved to see more traditional foods on the menu but that can not fault my experience at all.

We love The Moso and it will definitely be our new home away from home!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Moso for 4 days and loved it! We stayed in the plunge pool villa which I would highly recommend. We swam in it every chance we had. It had a deck with lounging chairs that looked out over the island and water. The restaurant food was very high quality, one of us got the eye fillet each night and it was some of the best steak I’ve had. You really only saw the other guests at meals times so it felt very private. On Valentine’s Day, they moved our dinner table onto the beach and lit a Bon fire for us. Also our flights were getting cancelled and rescheduled but Joel, one of the owners was keeping us updated on anything that affected us. Would definitely stay there again!

Stunning location, fabulous people, beautiful resort. We booked the Moso Magic beach house with another family and had a brilliant holiday. The setting is magical and superseded only by the beautifully natured staff who looked after us and always smiled. The house is well designed and well fitted out with plenty of space, making the most of the magical water views. Joel (co owner) organised a grocery shop for us so we had all we needed but when we didn't feel like cooking we lunched/dinnered at the indoor/outdoor restaurant which had a really tasty and reasonably priced menu. We had 2 birthdays in our group while there so Anton (co owner) baked us quality birthday cakes (he used to own a patisserie) and the staff surprised the guests with guitars in hand singing happy birthday Vanuatu style. There is heaps to do or as little as you like, lazing by the pool or deep sea fishing. We will miss the staff there as much as the island and are already discussing when we can go back. A truly memorable holiday.

Antoun, Joel, and the whole team at The Moso effortlessly make your stay here something else!
A place to unwind and understand the meaning of connection (not that of televisions and wifi, unless you need it). The food is second to none, the views are breathtaking, and the people revitalise your spirit away from the city lifestyle.
Whether it’s a pit stop for lunch, or a week stay on the resort; the team will go above and beyond to ensure an experience to have you craving a return trip!

(On behalf of my parents - Wendy and David)

I had the joy of spending 10 picturesque days on this tranquil hideaway to celebrate my 70th birthday and what a birthday celebration to remember.
Joel, Antoun and the gorgeous staff at Moso made us feel like we were at a home away from home.
Day one they made sure we arrived with ease to our beautiful contemporary garden room with plunge pool and then conveyed introduction with the other 25 guests so we all became quick friends to share in this experience.
My husband and I enjoyed sunset walks along the most beautiful of scenic waterfronts, we enjoyed a superb island infused menu each day and was emerged into the beautiful island culture of Vanuatu.

As this holiday was for my 70th Birthday away from close family Joel, Antoun, Moso staff and the fellow guests made this one to remember.
Joel and my daughter had organised the start of the day with Spa treatments for us and then Moso had a surprise dinner for me.
Wow… what a surprise it was! I was welcomed with a gorgeous handmade flower crown to signify that I was the “birthday girl” we all sat down to a full length table for a buffet dinner and a delectable chocolate cake.
I have to say it was the most memorable night that rocked on till 3am.

I am so grateful to have found Moso and to have met the owners Joel and Antoun. They have done the most beautiful job and to learn about the first initial phase to all their future plans I can see their vision.

We will be back my friends. Always in my heart Wendy and David.

Great place to be at. Half an hour car drive from Port Vila and another 10 on a boat and you are there. The Moso is placed in beautiful scenery, calm and relaxing. Despite the fact that it is quite remote, you have everything. Good food, excellent choice of drinks and service is from superb quality. Enjoy a snorkel straight from the beach or from the beach which is situated on the other side of the island, book yourself a spa treatment, a day trip or simply enjoy the pool. 5/5 would do it again.

The Moso resort is absolutely fantastic! Located on a quiet island of Moso, it is a perfect getaway from a reality. The island has its own micro climate, it is sheltered from the storms of the main land. There are only 10 villas in the resort so you will get to feel like you have the whole place to yourself.

You will have ocean views from almost every corner of the resort. The house reef has a decent snorkel, so you don’t really have to go anywhere. The food was great. Good cocktail list and fresh coconuts and bananas right from the trees.

The staff is very friendly, and the owners Joel, Anton and Andrew are the most hospitable people I know. Absolute legends!

I would totally go back there.

Absolutely stunning beach resort. My wife and I had an amazing stay here. Highly recommend organizing the transfer to The Moso through them, as it is a long drive from the airport and then a boat ride across the bay. Joel and Anton (the owners) have built an amazing place from scratch. The lodge in the center of the resort has amazing food and drink - we ate every meal there for our entire time, and never had anything less than a stellar meal. Our room (the Garden Suite) was spacious and luxurious. The Moso has a private beach on the north side of the island that is the most beautiful private beach I have ever been on. The service and hospitality by Joel, Anton, and there staff is personal, friendly, and of the highest quality. If you are looking for an island paradise with spectacular food, drink, accommodations, and service, this is it.

Here we are sitting at the airport getting ready to depart, and feel it very important to say we had the most blissful time away! We stayed here for 6 nights, from the moment we arrived Kevin, Helen and Isaac greeted us with a welcoming smile and infectious laugh that never disappeared throughout our stay, they were AMAZING! The Owners Joel, Anton & Julie made are staying very enjoyable and always had time for a chat and chill. This resort allows you to mingle as a group with other visitors or if you are not upto it allows you too hideaway and have that alone time. If you are looking for relaxation Moso Resort needs to be added to your destination. Thanks a Million MOSO & team (including jimmy)
