Our last night at Tamanu on the Beach Resort and Spa and what an absolutely amazing holiday it has been. We are so sad to be leaving, its been the best time. Without a doubt we recommend this resort - yes it's a drive from town but there is a bus transfer daily as well as tours organised by the resort. Plus the resort is stunning to relax at for days on end - a good book by the beach.

10 days of being spoilt by the staff! Bliss!

Our 2 bedroom villa was huge and comfortably fit our family of 5 for our stay. The bathroom and bath - OMG stunning. The plunge pool got so much use too.

The food was consistent and delicious every time. The staff learnt our names quickly and our drinks order it really made a connection between us and the resort staff.

The day spa was amazing and very accomadating to last minute massage bookings.

The main pool temp was great, huge landing in pool for younger children to play on. Plenty of loungers and bar service to the pool

It was windy our first few days but the last few days have been sensational. The most beautiful sunset, our own beach bonfire and fire dancers on Monday nights.

We got married whilst here.on Thursday in the pouring rain and it was still the best day. The rain added character. The resort made sure our day was amazing rain, hail or shine.

Forever grateful for our time at Tamanu On The Beach Resort, Vanuatu

We loved staying at Tamanu! We went with our kids (20months and 4) and it was an excellent family holiday. The staff are amazing and so friendly. The facilities are beautiful and the location is gorgeous! We had the most relaxing time and will definitely be back!

I just spent 6 days here with my family. Its amazing from the food, view and staff.

This resort is appropriate for kids (we have a 4 year old and 2 year old). The package with the plunge pool is worth the extra $$ for the space and private pool.

Thank you Tamanu on the beach and we will be back!

We went for dinner one night. The weather was diabolical, rainy and windy so the fire dancers were not on. However the food at the restaurant definitely made our trip there worth it. The road in is fairly bad, so it feels a lot longer than 7kms. I'd love to stay here in the future, it looks fantastic

I would definitely recommend Tamanu on the beach for anyone looking for a beautiful stay in Vanuatu! The villa, restaurant and overall stay was really lovely. Staff were super friendly also.

Delicious meals with an exceptional view.
Although the road is fairly bumpy to Tamanu, it was worth it!

We were married at Tamanu on the beach Jan 2023, we were looked after so well during our stay. The staff were so lovely and they organised everything I needed for the wedding day. The food and facilities were great and the spa had a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. I look forward to going back!

Tamanu Beach Resort was ideal for us as we wanted 7 days of rest & relax at a quiet beach front location. The serenity of waking up each morning in our beach front villa listening to the waves with the magnificent view over the ocean was perfect. The beach was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our walks along the beach at sunset but unfortunately it was difficult to swim in the water due to amount of rocks & coral. The pool was good but needs a little upgrading & it is located behind the villas, so you don’t get a view of the beach. The restaurant offered a good selection of meals with daily specials & the included breakfast was very enjoyable. The resort offers a free daily shuttle into Port Villa (30 minute trip yes there is a some dirt road but it isn’t too bad) which is great to pick up nibbles from the Supermarket to go with our duty free drinks at sunset on our front porch. The staff were very engaging & only too happy to make our stay very pleasurable.

My husband and I stayed at Tamanu for 2 nights.

The local staff was really nice but the owners and assistant were rather abrupt and were treating us like milking cows. When we arrived at the airport we had to wait for 45 minutes because they didn't send us the transfer, even though we told them multiple times before. When we finally arrived, the assistant didn't say anything except that we were the ones who made a mistake and forgot to send the details.

Apart from the restaurant (good but expensive), which amounted to almost the entirety of the staff, the hotel doesn't offer much. It's complicated to go swimming in the sea because of the coral and rocks. Also, you can't even relax on the beach because there are no deck chairs or anything. The swimming pool is hidden in the back of the hotel and doesn't have any beach view (contrary to what's specified on Booking). The room we had was white and clean but wasn't really close to the water for a "beach view" suite.

I think they should focus on what's happening in their hotel, instead of focusing on their restaurant.

Stunning location, and really pretty restaurant setting, gorgeous fresh flowers everywhere, and spotlessly clean dining area.
The seared tuna steak was generously sized and delicious.our group also had the beef Madras curry and poulet fish in coconut crumb.both very nice. Prices are average to slightly pricy, but you're also paying for the setting and view, which are gorgeous.
Lovely staff, very helpful.

We ate at the restaurant. The food was extremely poor.
The steak was chewy and the cauliflower entree was almost inedible. The cheese on the mussels wasn't melted and the service was slow.

The kitchen was dirty as were the toilets and the water girl's shirt.

Great rooms, location etc (worth the pothole-ridden 40-minute bus ride). Once out at this spot, the bus goes into town I think twice a day. We had a quad which I highly recommend if able to, get one. Way more freedom to do whatever you want. Find the best beaches too. Tamanu is a great place but the service should be way better if I'm to be honest. The prices are fine, but the service needs to reflect this. Island time is one thing, but this is double Island time. The food was also great, but on 3 separate occasions, I had 3 different types of foreign objects in my food and drink. This was sorted out with the management, with no drama. Will be back

Beautiful quiet location on an unspoiled coral sand beach, friendly staff, lovely dining areas and food options, spacious and comfortable accommodations and a private plunge pool, what’s not to like?
Free daily shuttle to Port Vila shops and markets is an ‘experience’ along 7km of bumpy road, but that’s just a part of the Vanuatu adventure! Very helpful and welcoming management, thank you Tamanu, Highly recommended!?

Everything is great!

One thing to be aware of is there is coral in the water and it is almost impossible to go for a swing without foot protection. Grab a bulldozer to open 50 metres of beach and make it sandy and it would be 100% perfect.

We had a lovely stay at Tamanu and would definitely go back. What a beautiful and quiet place! Exactly what we were looking for.

The beachfront villas are absolutely amazing, very spacious and well decorated. You're literally in front of the ocean, sleeping to the sounds of waves crashing every night.

The location is quite secluded, which makes it all so quiet. It's also hard to access, the road is filled with potholes. You don't want to be going to town everyday if you're staying here.

The restaurant is an attraction on its own. We had so many dishes and it's hard to fault anything. Just try it all.

The staff was quite lovely too, very accommodating and always trying their best. After the lockdown, I imagine it was tough for them to get back to speed.

A special mention to their signature cocktail, the Tamanu Coco. It's SO good!

We stopped here for lunch. Bit of a journey on a rough road but so worth it.
Can imagine it would be a great place for a wedding.
We had a really nice lunch and a wonder.
I'd like to go back and try the accommodation for sure.

Beautiful hotel, great location, lovely food, amazing coral beach villas, friendly staff, attentive management. Spa is not worth it in my view. In total 5* and will be happy to come back.
