I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Vanuatu, and I'd like to share my thoughts on the experience:

Accommodation: The accommodation at the Holiday Inn Vanuatu was somewhat run down. While the rooms were clean, some areas of the property appeared to be in need of maintenance. Most of the room doors did not close properly, which was evident as you walked down the hallway and saw how many doors weren’t latched properly. However, I found my room comfortable enough for a pleasant stay.

Food: The food at the hotel was average. While there were a variety of options available, I felt that the quality of the dishes could be improved. It was decent but didn't stand out as a culinary highlight of my stay. The buffet for the Melanesian night was somewhat disappointing for the cost (approx $57AUD pp). We had booked for the curry buffet a few nights later but cancelled after the disappointment from the first buffet night. Breakfast was great, however. Thoroughly enjoyed the options each morning.

Staff: One of the standout aspects of my stay was the staff. The employees at the Holiday Inn were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my visit. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and assist with any questions or requests I had. Their warm and accommodating attitude significantly enhanced my overall experience.

In summary, the Holiday Inn Vanuatu provided a decent stay with comfortable accommodation, although some areas of the property needed maintenance. The food was average, but the standout feature was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, who made my visit memorable.

I want to say a huge thanks to the amazing staff at Holiday inn in Port Villa… Upon arrival the staff were extremely welcoming & for the entire stay have been accomodating & I would say even become friends. I have become official Face book friends with a few of them. They are so very kind. I’m sure there are so many that I hadn’t had the chance to get to know however the beautiful few that I can name are Belinda, Maria Manager (from Breakfast), Allan & Mayank. Everyone was so very beautiful & I am looking forward to coming back soon & seeing everyone again.

Disappointing Stay at Holiday Inn Vanuatu

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Vanuatu, and my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, I encountered a room with a persistent unpleasant smell, coupled with a door that wouldn't lock properly, which significantly impacted my sense of security. The hotel promptly accommodated my request to change rooms, but the overall quality remained subpar.

The rooms appeared dated and lacked the modern amenities one would expect for the price paid. The decor felt tired, and the ambiance lacked character, making it a forgettable stay.

The dining experience mirrored my disappointment with the accommodation. The food was bland, lacking creativity and flavor. The menu options were limited, and the meals seemed overpriced given their mediocre quality. This further diminished my overall impression of the hotel. That said, the breakfast buffet was quite nice and we enjoyed the custom egg station. We found it better value to eat out.

Despite these shortcomings, the saving grace of my stay was the friendly and accommodating staff. They were attentive and eager to assist, providing a glimmer of positivity amidst an otherwise lackluster experience.

In summary, my stay at Holiday Inn Vanuatu was marred by issues ranging from room quality to dining options. The hotel's dated rooms, overpriced services, and lack of character make it a less than ideal choice for travelers seeking a memorable and comfortable stay. While the staff was friendly, it was unfortunately not enough to salvage the overall impression of my visit.

Wonderful stay. Beautiful location, beautiful people. Staff made the stay, thank you Bradley, Peter and Toululu for caring for our kids and also Nadia and Ilene for the massage. Also Alan from reception. Can’t wait to come back.

Sitting in a beach bungalow overlooking the water and the room view is stunning. But it is roughly 800m to reception and a driver is needed to collect you and drop you each time you want to go to the main area. Problem is the phone doesn't get answered 90% of the time and when it does you can wait up to 30minutes for a car. I am writing this while I wait to try to phone again. I have tried more than 20 times without success. I would walk but it's raining and the room does not contain an umbrella, nor does it contain a minibar offering, wine glasses or a bottle opener. You are really isolated. Tried room service and it was cold when it got to us. We should have stayed elsewhere on day one. Our little one is unwell today so we are having a day streaming movies, problem is the codes they give you for the internet keep failing and we have to keep calling for new codes, We have had roughly 10 so far.and once again.useless if the phone doesn't get answered. The frustration far offsets the amazing view.

Love this place.heaps of good points, but not yet properly recovered from covid. Bit more maintenance and you have absolute paradise.

We had just the best stay with our adult children. The facilities and location are just fantastic, and don't get me started on the meals and cocktails! But above all else this place is amazing because of the heart and soul of the management and staff, including front, back and everything in between. Nothing was a problem including turning up unannounced when our flight was cancelled and each enquiry was met with a warm easy smile.
I feel like I have had a holiday with a brand new family who have wrapped me with their warmth and generosity of spirit. High fives everyone, thank you.we will be back!

Room doors didnt work. Couldn't swim in the lagoon and no prior notice given about this. Hot water didnt work. Air-conditioning didnt work well and rooms were always hot. The hotel is run down and is ageing. Pictures are misleading. The roads on the grounds are broken and unsafe to walk or drive on. Very average but prices didnt reflect.

Staff were friendly but were at times clueless as to what was happening.

Absolutely stunning service and excellent opportunities to relax home away from home. If yo want peace of mind, good food, great outdoors, and happy people who care genuinely.then look no far.
Also the Island opened up a few months ago, and great to see how busy it is already.

Stayed there for 5 days. Overpriced and not value for money. Hotel is old and the food is expensive and not even tasty. The staff are pleasant but not very clued as to what's going on and somewhat forgetful. Need to remind them constantly for stuff not yet done. The air-conditioning was not working well. Definitely needs renovation and revamp.

Hôtel correct, pas loin du centre-ville, personnel très aimable. Pensez à prendre des prises FR ou UE car les chambres sont équipées de prises australiennes. 700vt pour une Tusker à l'hôtel.

Decent hotel, not far from the city center, very friendly staff. Remember to take FR or EU plugs because rooms are equipped with Australians ones. 700vt for a Tusker inside the hotel.

We didn't stay here - so cant coment on any of the above. A friend took us to see the amazing architecture of its reception area.

(+) bungalow on the water were very nice and reasonably priced. I also loved the beach side where the view is amazing and the possibility to do catamaran, kayak and SUP (for free!). Overall a very nice and peaceful hotel where we live the Pacific dream.
(-) pool restaurant food is below average and overpriced. Hotel a bit hold with facilities that would need to be refreashed.
Also some personnal experience that prevent us for giving 5 stars: we had a bad experience at check-in where they asked us to pay even tho we already paid by card via Agoda. They initially said they have issue with the platform and asked us to contact them to fix the issue (LOL). Fortunately after insisting for 15 minutes, the reception all of sudden found our payment proof and everything was solved. Also pay intention to what you are charged at restaurant as they tryed to charge us wrong price for room service food (this is more a Port vila Issue it happened couple of time outside the hotel).

Such a lovely place to stay! Perfect for us and our twin toddlers for our honeymoon. We stayed in the over water bungalows and it was actual heaven! The food is a bit average but all in all it was fantastic! The pool is fabulous for kids and the beach bungalows are perfect!

As lovely as the resort is, and the staff are, it is plagued by issues the staff say still relate to covid, however it seems to be a convenient excuse. They are out of most all mixers for drinks, out of so many food options (and many of these mixers or food options are produced locally!). They still don’t have enough staff, and there are not enough activities open yet so how you spend your time here is really limited. That being said, if you want to be able to relax by a pool and beach, and help the locals to recover post covid, it is recommended. Unfortunately most of the activities around the Port Vila area are similarly still shut down or limited. It just seems like the island opened up before it was ready to properly support tourism.

Had a fantastic week at Holiday Inn. Stay in Overwater Villa which was amazing. It is nice and quiet and peaceful on little island. You can easily walk over to main resort, lovely way to start the day, or you can get the van.
Restaurant has a beautiful view, as mentioned Breakfast selection was a bit limited but was still plenty of choice.
My husband had fun on kayaks and catamaran and I can thoroughly recommend cabanas beside the lagoon.

Loved the Overwater bungalows. The pools were wonderful. So nice to relax and sit around the pool or on the beach. Lots of activities.
Breakfast was a little disappointing but overall a really nice place to stay thank you.

Do not get the garden view rooms if you have a family of 4. It's incredibly cramped with a paint smell. Due to this issue we were upgraded to a lagoon view room which was a bit more spacious than the other room and also had no paint smell. Staff can be a bit forgetful and the wifi barely worked.
