11Stunning part of Vanuatu, lots of options of taxis and water taxis to get you in to town or wherever you want to go. Be prepared to haggle
Was not a very impressive place. After driving through the smell you arrived at mudflats. Not a good impression of Brisbane
It's all right but a bit out of the way with out enough parking space and no public transport
It’s a shipping port. Not much more to say - 5 min walk to water taxis or (land) taxi into town or further afield - don’t expect to pay more than Au$50pp for a tour but be careful of your group as they may not be as agreeable to the itinerary as you.
As much as it is a gateway to happy, the surrounding area is terrible, it smells and is so not inviting.
Not a very nice place to start visually after leaving Sydney Harbour. No crowds around the terminal district. Nice cake shops with French patisserie. Nice people. Buses can be found a 10min walk from the ship. The drive out along the coast is nicer.
Very easy bag drop off, processing of embarkation, plenty of parking and shuttle service to and from terminal.the cafe is well run for quick meal or drink while waiting
Very efficient getting on. No queues. Short walk from pre booked parking, if you can get it. Book your parking early as possible so you don't miss out.
Frightening experience to the unsuspecting traveller.
Instantly hound by the masses of taxi drivers at the gates, we felt like we were walking into a cage if animals; rude, obnoxious, pushy and very frightening for female visitors.
Definitely recommend everyone to pre book through a legitimate taxi comany for icky as it's very daunting and you will get ripped off!
Vanuatu (and the cruise lines that dock here) get with the times and organise something more professional for the any visitors as you will be losing a lot of would be return tourism.
A hotbed for scam.
All came out for a hard sell of their tour excursion.
All I wanted to do was to get to Port Vila City and that's it.
Took the offer of 150AUD by the taxi driver and was disappointed of what I only got to see of his so called "tour". I had to pay that much just to visit the taxi driver's house.
Was referred to that taxi driver by the Transport Authority who also wanted to sell me tours. The Transport Authority and the taxi driver look pretty corrupt to me.
