Port Orly beach is one of the most beautiful beaches you will find anywhere and Tarcisius is one of the best hosts you will find. We had an amazing time. The bungalows and pretty basic but totally adequate other than lacking some comfortable seating.

Tarcisius is a great host and chef and runs 3 bungalows. Please note that a lot of other places in the area on maps are not running anymore post covid and are in a state of disrepair. The bungalows are basic and the showers have supposed hot water but minimal water pressure. Right on the beach so excellent access to Port Olry beach. Meals can be prepared by Tarcisius for 1000-1500vatu and were excellent (much better than the overpriced chez luis down the road). Tarcisius took me on a walk for 1500vatu to a lookout on his plantation which had a superb view of Port Olry. I also learnt a lot about different plants. Highly highly recommend going out to the small island (Malet Island) in low tide and swimming around to see the stunning coral here. Best stuff is on the side facing away from Port olry. There's a beach on this side and it is possible to walk across the island. Easily to get to Port Olry by bus from Luganville in the afternoon (after 3pm) and easy to leave Port Olry in the morning heading south (5: 30-7am). Keep this in mind if planning to travel by public transport (designed for locals commuting to Luganville).

Port Olry Beach Resort is located right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is probably the most bautiful beach on Espiritu Santo, the largest island on the archipelago of Vanuatu, though less known than the famous Champagne Beach.

The resort has a total of 26 Bungalows, all owned by one local family. All of them are custom style as they have been occupied by the melanesian population for the past few thousand years and still today. The bungalows have been built by the family with untreated local materials. They are as authentic and typical as they can be and used to be and do not offer any luxury. No TV, no telephone, no modern kitchen or furniture, not all the bungalows offering warm water to shower, electricity only during a few hours a day. Well, you have free WiFi access, the only concession t the modern world.
But here in Port Olry, in these authentic cabins at the tip of the world, you are virtually in touch of the very soul of life in the southern seas. When the little village surrounding you comes to life in the very early morning, you will be just part of it. The man grab their outriggers and row out with their nets for the first catch of the day, the woman light the fires in their bush kitchens and start their day work and you can just join them in whatever they are doing. They still follow their ways as they have for the last centuries. Once a week, only on Sundays, you can cross the street and get some delicious and low cost local food that some of the mamas prepare for the whole village.
But also in the three restaurants of the resort we are offering best local food. Rich, fresh, scrumptious and healthy. You should know that all of the local food is purely organic, as Ni-Vans do not use any pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or even fertilizers on their grounds. The fish is really catch of the day, as you eventually helped to pull the nets in.
